HID
bulbs are a quantum leap forward in off-road lighting. HID (high intensity
discharge) lamps produce daylight quality light and brightness, far
outperforming conventional quartz halogen lighting systems. These bulbs are the
same ones being used by BMW, Mercedes and Lexus in their OEM headlights.
A single HID. bulb produces the equivalent of 250 watts of halogen lighting
power while only consuming 50 watts of power and generating far less heat. They
also do not use a filament; they fire an 18,000-volt electric charge between two
electrodes encased in a xenon gas-filled bulb. Since the bulb has no filament,
vibration is not a detriment to its operating life (2000 hours). All this makes
HID Bulbs a perfect fit for off-road use.
HID kits adapt an HID bulb to your existing stock or after-market motorcycle,
truck, or buggy halogen headlight, The kits consists of a high voltage ballast,
HID bulb with built in ignitor, connectors, a simple wiring harness, mounting
hardware and detailed installation instructions. The ballast is fully waterproof
and epoxy encapsulated to stand up to weather and off-road abuse. The ballast
provides the power needed to run the HID bulb, weighs 5 ounces and measures
3-1/2" x 2-3/4" x 1-1/4"
HID electronics kits allow remote mounting of the ballast from the bulb
giving you greater flexibility for installing the system on a motorcycle. The
Ballast can be mounted in such places as the light's fairing, behind a side
panel, or anywhere else as long as it is within 31 inches of the headlight
(Different length high voltage leads available).
For off road truck and buggy mounting, Baja Designs has placed all these
components in one easy to install housing. So what you get is a Single 8 or a
2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 light bar that is ready to be installed the second it is
removed from the box. By eliminating the need to mount an external ballast, your
installation time is cut in half and there is no vehicle down time.

Baja Designs the leader in off-road motorcycle race lighting
brings more than 10 years of experience to the 4 wheel market.
Not only are they racers themselves, but they support racers
such as Johnny Campbell, Larry Roeseler, Ty Davis and numerous
other Baja 1000 and Dakar racers.
Located at the top of the Soltek LaPaz is the Baja Designs
patented, aluminum, Quick Adjust System. This allows for on the
fly, up- down adjustment of the light no tools required. Of
course, each light also adjusts side to side.
The light mounts easily to your existing bumper or roll cage
using either a one or two hole mounting configuration located at
the bottom of the chromoly frame. (The two hole configuration
prevents the light from vibrating out of adjustment while
driving). Since you dont have to worry about an external
ballast, mounting these lights is quick and painless.
This light weighs in at a slim 4 lbs 10 oz! Yes, that
includes everything. The light is available in driving or pencil
beam. It features a Tig-welded 4130 Chromoly frame, rubber
vibration isolators, aluminum light ring, all stainless steel
fasteners, high quality Baja Designs glass optics and is double
O-Ring sealed. Halogen components are neatly confined within a
High-Impact glass reinforced UV nylon housing.

Wire
Your Light Bar!
To further simplify your
Modular Light Bar installation, we offer a universal
wiring harness kit and two power "splitter" kits. The
wiring harness is designed specifically for routing
power to the top of your vehicle. The Splitter Kits plug
directly into the wiring harness allowing you to switch
any number of lights in any configuration you choose
(switches not provided.) Each light comes with 10" of
wire cable from the back. See the example below.

If you build a 5
light bar as shown above and would like to switch the
two "A" lights separately from the three "B" lights. You
will need:
1 Wiring Harness
Kit - Runs power to the
light bar.
1 2-Way Splitter
Kit - Joins one of the
two connectors from the Wiring Harness Kit to the "A"
lights.
1 3-Way Splitter
Kit - Joins the
remaining connector from the Wiring Harness Kit to the
"B" lights.

SAMPLE LIGHT BARS
Shown below are
