Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What size tires can I run
with your suspension?
A. A 35” tire with the proper offset wheels works
great with any of our suspension systems. A 37” tire
can also be run but the proper offset and
backspacing becomes increasingly important.
Q. How do the 5 leaf
progressive add a packs work?
A. Custom made 5 leaf progressive add a packs work
by replacing the factory lower overload spring with
5 additional leafs A higher leaf count spring allows
the use of a thinner leaf material that yields a
more flexible progressive leaf stack, producing a
much smoother spring rate curve throughout the
complete suspension cycle. These add a packs are
designed to keep your stock load carrying capacity
as well.
Q. Why is your suspension
system better than the competition?
A. We have spent months dedicated to shock valving
and spring rates to give the end user a product that
has been tuned specifically for the Dodge Ram truck.
Partnering with King and Bilstein shocks to find the
optimal shock valving for this line of trucks took
more than a few months to achieve. Having the
correct coil spring rate is just as critical, as
both the shock and coil work together to give you an
improved ride and better overall performance.
Q. Do you offer drop blocks for
the sway bar?
A. The drop block supplied by some companies
actually creates leverage on the swaybar by pulling
it further from the trucks frame. This makes the
sway bar less effective. Instead of using drop
blocks we go a step further and machine a set of
17-4 stainless swaybar endlinks. This replaces the
factory ball and socket design with a nylon lined
F.K. bearing that will last much longer and is much
stronger.
Q. What is the difference
between your coils and a Variable rate coil?
A. The coils we use in our suspension systems are a
linear rate coil. This basically means you have one
single rate all the way through the coil. Extensive
testing has enabled us to find the optimum spring
rate for the best performance and ride quality for
your Dodge truck. Carli Suspension will be
introducing a variable rate coil to the market
shortly.
Q. Can I upgrade my suspension
system down the road?
A. Yes, our suspension systems give you the ability
to upgrade components at your own pace. We sell
components of our suspension systems separately as
well as in package form. There is no need to start
over from the beginning in order to upgrade your
suspension further.
