From the deserts of the west to your local retailer, Icon Vehicle Dynamics has announced that after a year of testing, the newly developed ZooRoad Shocks are ready for their market debut.

Engineers at Icon Vehicle Dynamics have been testing the newest edition to its shock line for the past year in the toughest, most brutal conditions on earth – off-road desert racing. The prototypes for the ZooRoad 4.5” Shocks have been on the Team Icon Vehicle Dynamics Ford SuperDuty race truck for over a year. These massive shocks are not for looks. The Stock Full class, in which Team Icon Vehicle Dynamics competes, has rule limitations on suspension modification. There are no limitations on shock design or creativity, therefore, Icon Vehicle Dynamics got creative and developed a shock to enhance the limited suspension. By testing the shocks over the last year, Icon Vehicle Dynamics engineers have found that the shocks can withstand virtually anything thrown at them.

Case in point, during the Henderson 400 in December of last year, Team Icon Vehicle Dynamics learned a lot about these new shocks’ capabilities when the coil spring fell out of the coil bucket on the last lap of the race. The shock was the only thing holding the truck up on that side and not only did the driving team not feel the difference, they went on to take second place in the truck’s second race. Icon Vehicle Dynamics knew they were on to something and continued to tinker with the shock over the next few races.

Satisfied with the shocks’ performance in several different racing venues, Icon Vehicle Dynamics decided it was time to take the shock to market. “We’ve taken our time developing these shocks on our race truck. We wanted to see how much they could withstand and how good we could get them. After a few races and lots of test time, we are satisfied. These shocks perform to the specifications that we built them for and survive some pretty harsh terrain,” says Kreg Icon Vehicle Dynamics, owner of Icon Vehicle Dynamics and driver of the Stock Full SuperDuty. “The different races we have competed in served as the testing grounds for these new shocks. Once we were certain that the shocks could withstand the courses that BITD puts together and won a couple of races, we knew they could withstand just about anything and would be the best shocks on the market.”

The new 4.5” ZooRoad© Shocks by Icon Vehicle Dynamics will be in public distribution in early January 2007. Here are some unique features of this new shock:

For the SuperDuty owner that prefers a smaller shock, Icon Vehicle Dynamics has also designed a downsized 2.5” version of the new ZooRoad Shock. Icon Vehicle Dynamics will introduce this version December 1, 2007, prior to the 4.5” release. This new coil-over shock is a first for the SuperDuty and these new SuperDuty shocks had months of ride quality testing on them before we EVER made the first production units. The 2.5” version is virtually the same shock except for the size difference.

The TEI Techology Relocation Bracket Kit will allow anyone with our 2.5”,4.5”,&7” System to gain “The Extra Inch ” that they are looking for.

This simple bracket installs underneath the front coil-springs and adds 1 ” of ride height without changing the ride quality or performance of any of Icon Vehicle Dynamics's suspension systems.

Whether it's to clear larger tires or just for that extra boost in confidence, the TEI Relocation Bracket will do the trick.
