What are the benefits of using a DEI turbo blanket?
A turbo heat shield or turbo blanket provides you with a higher competitive edge on the street or track. Containing the heat inside the hot side of the turbine housing helps the turbo build boost faster and can reduce turbo flutter or chatter.
A turbo blanket will not cause damage to your turbocharger. It is a misunderstanding that the heat held by the turbo blanket damages the turbocharger. Turbochargers are designed to handle well more than peak engine exhaust temperatures. Maintaining the exhaust heat inside the turbocharger does not damage the turbocharger. However, as with all turbocharged vehicles, it is imperative not to shut down the engine immediately after a period of intense acceleration, whether or not it is equipped with an OEM or aftermarket turbocharger. As with all OEM and aftermarket turbocharger manufacturers, we recommend giving the oil (and possibly water) time to circulate and cool the turbocharger. It is recommended to let the turbocharger idle for 1-2 minutes after a strong acceleration phase and before parking the vehicle so that it can cool effectively. You can also consider purchasing a turbo timer to allow the engine to idle for a period of time after getting off the vehicle and locking it.
Would you recommend installing a turbo blanket/heat wrap over ceramic coating?
Extensive testing has shown that our turbocharger shields and blankets are far more effective than ceramic coating at isolating exhaust heat and lowering underhood temperatures. If you already have a ceramic coating, however, the added impact of adding the turbo blanket/wrap will enhance the benefits.
What is the life expectancy of an installed turbo blanket/heat wrap?

Measuring your turbo size
The sizes of DEI Turbo shields are determined by two factors. The circumference of the turbocharger housing, excluding the flange, is the initial measurement. The width of the turbo at its widest position, excluding the flanges, is the second measurement. After you've taken your measurements, use the chart below to choose the correct shield.
DEI's T22 and T25/28 turbocharger shields are designed for use on internally gated housings. They will have a cutout in the wastegate area to allow for tight fitment.
