What can cause a MAF Sensor to malfunction?

One of the most common reasons for the MAF Sensor malfunctioning and sending incorrect signals is contamination. If you fail to change the air filter at the recommended service interval, this can cause a big problem. The MAF sensor is extremely sensitive to particle contamination. This can occur when dirt or oil becomes attached to the electrodes in the sensor. We at KLM Performance strongly recommend not touching any part of this sensor with bare hands!
