The Applied Racing Products Dodge Diesel Rod Bolt Kit works on the following Cummins engines:

  • 1983 to 1998 Dodge Cummins 5.9L Turbo Diesel 12 Valve Engines
  • 1998.5 to 2002 Dodge Ram Cummins 5.9L Turbo Diesel - Steel Angled Cap Rod Only 24 Valve Engines.
  • 2003 to 2007 Dodge Ram Cummins 5.9L Turbo Diesel Common Rail Engines.
  • 2007.5 to 2020 Dodge Ram trucks with 6.7L Cummins ISB Turbo Diesel
  • 1984 to 2001 Cummins 3.9L 4BT and 4BTA diesel engines.

These replacement rod cap bolts are manufactured ARP in America by the industry leader in fasteners for the Dodge Cummins engines. These ARP aftermarket rod bolts offer a dramatic increase in the tensile strength of the rod cap bolts. Ensure the integrity of your high performance diesel engine by using ARP fasteners.

Automotive Racing Products has designed and built Rod Bolts for the Dodge Ram cummins powered trucks. In high performance applications, the rod bolts are vital when installing aftermarket I-beam rods. These ARP "Pro" Series Wave-Loc connecting rod bolts constructed of the ARP2000 alloy. These ultra heavy-duty rod bolts have an extremely high clamping force and a dramatically increased fatigue life.

The ARP connecting rod bolts are superior to those from other manufacturers. ARP has developed application-specific alloys to obtain the superior fatigue strength required. Testing has shown ARP rod bolts to have five times the fatigue strength of other bolts.  It's easy to see why ARP bolts are superior. As such, it makes good sense to rely on ARP for the premium connecting rod strength and reliability. Your engine needs. Get the most out of your racing budget and depend on the ARP connecting rod bolts. You'll find the ARP name proudly stamped on each bolt as your assurance of quality.

What is so special about the ARP2000 alloy used to construct the Dodge Cummins Rod Bolts?

ARP2000 is a heavily alloyed martensitic quench, and temper steel initially developed for use in steam power plants. As such, it has excellent stability at high temperatures. But most important, ARP research discovered that in addition to temperature stability it has good notch toughness in the higher strength ranges and is alloyed to be tempered to Rc44/47. 8740 and 4340 can be tempered to the same hardness. But, the tempering temperature would yield material in the “temper brittle zone” (between 500° and 700°F), producing significant notch sensitivity. The ARP2000 alloy is tempered above that temperature range to provide a strength between 200,000 and 220,000 psi.

ARP offers this replacement Rod cap bolts for the Cummins turbo diesel engines. Significantly increase the tensile strength of the rod cap bolts by installing an ARP bolt kit in your Cummins engine.
