Dodge Cummins Sensor - Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor - MAP Sensor -  MAP Air Intake Pressure Sensor

OEM Cummins 6.7L 2897333NX MAP Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor For 2007.5 to 2018 6.7L Versions of the Ram trucks with the 6.7L Cummins Diesel has now been superseded to the New Cummins 5698455 replacement sensor.

The Cummins 5698455 Replacement MAP Sensor applications:

  • All 2007.5 To 2012 Dodge Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesels
  • All 2013 To 2018 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesels

The MAP Sensor for the Cummins 6.7L diesel engines is also known as:

  • Dodge Cummins MAP Sensor
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor
  • MAP Sensor

Your 6.7L Cummins Turbo diesel engine uses a manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor to determine changes in the intake air stream. These pressure changes are used to indicate engine load, boost, operational elevation, and other pressure variables that enable your ECU to make necessary changes so your diesel can run at peak performance. If your Dodge Ram 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel truck is experiencing decreased engine performance, it could be the MAP sensor. The 6.7L Cummins diesel engine also uses an IAT Intake Air Temperature Sensor and a MAF Manifold Airflow Sensor for proper engine operation. Please ensure you order the correct sensor for the trouble code you are trying to fix. You will receive the very latest version replacement sensor known as the Cummins 5698455 when you make this purchase.

These OEM Cummins Engine Sensors are an electrical component, and they are a Non-Returnable item. Please make sure you have ordered the correct sensor for your 6.7L Cummins, as there are multiple sensors located on the air intake system.

The Cummins 5698455 supersedes the prior Cummins :

What does the MAP Sensor Do? - MAP Sensor

Your Cummins 6.7L Diesel Engine uses the MAP sensor as an aid to precisely control fuel injection for the best engine performance possible based on the current conditions. The MAP sensor or Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor continuously monitors the air intake system pressure readings and then transmits this data to the ECU.

The manifold absolute pressure sensor transmits data which is used to calculate:

    • Air density
    • Mass Air Flow Rate
    • Optimum combustion
    • Advanced or Retarding Injection Timing

    • FAQ: How can I determine if the MAP Sensor on my 6.7L Cummins diesel is failing? If your Dodge Ram truck is showing any of these warning signs, it could be your Map Sensor:  Rough idle, Decreased Fuel Economy, Poor Acceleration, Lack Of Power slow acceleration, or a check engine light. Why do MAP Sensors Fail? MAP sensors are electrical sensors that are very sensitive to contamination. We suggest cleaning your MAP Sensor before you replace this sensor. MAP Sensors are also subject to extreme vibrations from driving. The MAP Sensor connections can loosen and cause external damage. Electrical connectors can also melt or crack from overheating due to close proximity to the engine. The MAP sensor will need to be replaced in either of these scenarios.

    It doesn't fit my truck

    Hi Terry,
We are confused by your statements. Your first complaint was that "this sensor is defective" so we immediately issued you a replacement sensor. After you received the replacement sensor you then changed your complaint to "it does not fit my truck". There are multiple sensors on the inlet side of your truck type. We all know what happens when the wrong sensor for a Cummins engine is purchased and installed. This is why we list our products with detailed product descriptions to help the customer make the correct choice. Please let us know if you need any assistance choosing the correct OEM Cummins replacement sensor for your truck type. We are always here to help. Thank you.
